Gordonvale
Q&A
with Brett Moller, Local councillor
What work has been done behind the scenes to spark the
Gordonvale "retail renaissance"?
I think my election commitment to have Cairns Regional
Council develop and implement a Gordonvale Economic
Development plan has brought a specific focus on what
Council can do to encourage investment. We have then
followed through with implementation of a number of projects
in and around the town centre to give the place a real lift.
Council’s deal with the State Government to acquire the
Greenpatch area adjacent to the Mulgrave River and
formalise it to a 40-site RV Park with new toilets and
showers is an exciting tourism and economic development
project for the town.
The work put in by local landlord Daryl Cutuli and Trolley
Café’s Ian Tunbridge to revitalise Bryce’s Arcade has been
nothing short of amazing. I’d also like to acknowledge the
small business owners who have come into town to invest
and start businesses. It is so good to see.
