latest market day.
There’s every reason to leave your mother’s day shopping
to the last minute this year, with Makin Whoopee Gift
Shop’s second Cairns Makers’ market to cater for
Mother’s Day gifts.
Back by popular demand, Makin Whoopee’s inaugural craft
and design market was held just before Christmas and the
quality, local offerings were highly coveted, with most stall
holders selling out in the first few hours.
“People were completely amazed by the quality of what
was being sold and they had no idea such items were
made locally,” said organiser Fany Saumure. “There are
some businesses that don’t do the local markets because
their quality’s too good and the market mentality is for
cheap stuff. This is more of a design market with
beautifully-made pieces.” Fany Saumure & Kirsty Mulley from Makin’ Whoopee
Mothers will be front and centre of the follow-up event.
“We’ve curated the market and selected the artisans with MAKIN’ WHOOPEE MAKERS’ MARKET
mother’s day in mind,” Ms Saumure said. “It should be 9am until 2pm
