                                                                             curiosity in a child
                                                                          1  Let them be kids through
                                                                             unstructured play, preferably
                                                                             outdoors.

                                                                          2  Ask open-ended questions starting
                                                                             with words like who, what, when,
                                                                             how, why and where.

                                                                          3  Open up experiences by showing
                                                                             them the world, taking them
                                                                             camping, to a museum or art show
                                                                             and encourage relatives to give them
                                                                             experiences rather than toys as gifts.

                                                                          4  Encourage their interests by
                                                                             noticing the activities they love and
                                                                             providing more of them.

                                                                          5  Before answering a child’s question,
                                                                             ask them to answer it themselves,
                                                                             thereby prompting their own
                                                                             critical thinking.
