Connie Mitchell and Angus McDonald
are now married with children it hasn’t
slowed them down a bit. Be prepared
to groove to mid-noughties classics
like UFO, Pictures and I Love It.
GYROSCOPE
Big in the alternative music world from
1999, punk rockers Gyroscope hit the
mainstream in 2004 with their single Safe
Forever and were the opening act for Blink
182’s tour the same year. Fast Girl and
Beware Wolf were their other two big hits
with their music described as being able to
work its way into your mindset.
YOU AM I
The alternative rockers were the
first band to release three successive
albums to debut at #1 on the ARIA
Albums Chart in the late 90s. They
received no less than 10 ARIA awards
from 31 nominations during this
time. They certainly know how to rock
a crowd, supporting international
artists like The Who, The Rolling
Stones and Oasis.
JEBEDIAH
Tropic has it on good authority Scene & Heard hits Cairns
that the WA rockers behind Showgrounds on Sunday, October 27
hit 1997 single Leaving Home
were better live than US band Tickets at eventbrite.com.au
Smashing Pumpkins, who they
supported on an Australian tour
in 1998. The Big Day Out veterans
are well-loved for their feisty,
melodic, guitar-based punk-pop.
