           CERAMIC PORTRAITURE

           This four-week course guides participants through the
           structure and visual proportions of the face, exploring
           techniques to sculpt the human head in clay. Working from
           photographs, participants will work towards likeness and
           expression of character of their subject. Open to people
           aged 16 and over, across all skill levels.

                                                                Cairns Art Gallery will be one of nine venues to host
                                                                the historical Archie 100, scheduled from 18 March to
                                                                12 June, 2022.
                                                                Signifying a century of the Archibald Prize, the Art
                                                                Gallery of NSW is putting together a collection of one
                                                                hundred portraits – and locating those that have gone
                                                                missing over the Prize’s history.
                                                                More than 6000 portraits have been included in the
                                                                Archibald to date, many of which are now in
                                                                private collections.
