received late last year to assist independent regional publishers like
us provide local news content to you, our readers. We’re very excited
about the grant. A big thank you to the Feds and the Australian
Communications and Media Authority for the opportunity.
TropicNow.com.au traffic grew from just over 470,000 page views in
2018 to more than 835,000 page views last year. That’s a remarkable 77%
year-on-year increase, thanks in large part to our incredible journo Renee
Cluff. It demonstrates the community’s appetite for an alternative local
news source, 100% owned and operated by locals. In 2020, we have a goal
to hit one million page views for the first time since our launch in 2016.
