What do you love most about CIAF?
The joyful, sharing spirit of people coming together to
celebrate arts and culture. It is wonderful and quite
humbling to be part of.
What are you looking forward to most about CIAF 2018?
Catching up with the art centre managers and artists
that I have met over the years and of course, the fashion -
love the fashion performance! Opening night with the
opportunity to walk through the art fair with a glass of
wine is also very enjoyable - or grabbing a bargain at the
art market.
What’s your favourite memory of CIAF?
I have many, but most recently, last year’s closing
ceremony. It is an amazing experience to be part of as
everyone comes together for the last time with a
showcase of cultural dance and music.
Who’s the one to watch in CIAF 2018?
Mmm, there are many talented artists. Always love
seeing work by young artists like Daniel O’Shane as well
as the beautiful work by the women artists of Mornington
Island and Sid Bruce Short-Joe and his wonderful ghost
nets from Pormpuraaw. I think the fashion show under
the new curatorial collective will be something to see
and, of course, BUKAL, JUTE's story of elder and tradition-
al owner Henrietta Marrie.
