Thursday 15 June
Thelma Plum, the talented Gamilaraay artist, is performing a sold out show at the Tanks with support from Greta Stanley. Known for her honest and thoughtful lyrics, Thelma Plum's music captures the experiences of being a young Aboriginal woman in Australia. From upbeat moments to intimate and heartfelt songs, her performance promises to be a powerful and unforgettable experience.
In Tropical Arts' annual Shakespeare at the Tanks production, experience the tragic love story of Cleo & Tony. Set in the 1930s noir era, this reimagined adaptation of Antony and Cleopatra features gangsters, glamour, and a fusion of music, dance, and theatre. With a diverse cast and immersive storytelling, this production offers a captivating and visually stunning experience that combines the ancient with the modern. Performances daily through to Saturday.
NYX Festival is back and ready to ignite NQ for another year of good vibes. Set on a remote 30,000-acre property in Ravenshoe, the underground arts, music, and culture experience promises three days of connection with nature, and dancing under the Milky Way. Some tickets still remaining.
Friday 16 June
Renowned singer-songwriter, Dan Sultan is performing a special solo show at the Tanks featuring new and unreleased music from his upcoming fifth studio album, along with beloved tracks from his extensive discography. Sultan's impressive achievements include six ARIA Awards and an ARIA-certified Gold record.
ARIA award-winning and known for her captivating vocals, PAULINI Sings the American Divas. With her angelic five-octave range, she takes audiences on a journey through the greatest voices in American music history.
Head to the Cairns Esplanade for the COUCH Charity Fun Run, an official event of the Cairns Airport IRONMAN Cairns Festival! You can register on the day from 6am. The charity event supports locals impacted by cancer, and all ages and abilities are welcome. Come dressed in vibrant colours to show your support.
Performing at Hemingways Wharf are nomadic duo Sunday Lemonade. Effortlessly blending heartfelt folk and powerful indie rock, their songs reflect their unique perspectives on life, friendships, and introspection, filled with optimism.
Saturday 17 June
Katie Noonan is presenting Joni Mitchell's iconic album Blue alongside guitar virtuoso Ben Hauptmann. With a career spanning over 20 years, Noonan has received five ARIA Awards and is hailed as one of Australia's greatest singers. This special event pays tribute to Mitchell's influential album, showcasing Noonan's remarkable vocals and artistic interpretation.
Cairns Drum & Bass HQ returns for their monthly drum and bass night at The Jack in The Boiler Room. The event includes an exciting lineup of talented DJs, including Stookey, Neptun3, No Keys, and 50KAL.
