Police say he went to the property to meet with a man known to him and was approached by the 27 year-old and a 37 year-old man armed with rifles.

The man was allegedly forced into a vehicle by the pair and tied up before being hit in the head with a rifle.

Detective Inspector Jason Chetham said the man’s wallet was taken and his car damaged before he was freed.

"He was tied up and he was assaulted and a shot was fired, we will be alleging," he said.

A subsequent search of the area by PD Quincy led officers to a hidden bunker beneath a haystack.

The hatch contained 27 firearms along with multiple boxes of ammunition, jewellery, watches, cannabis, methylamphetamine and property belonging to the victim.

"It was well constructed, it was underground," Det Insp Chetham said.
