Trinity Anglican School (TAS) has been named in the top eight non-government primary schools at the Australian Education Awards.
The awards, now in their fifth year, recognise individual schools, teachers, principals and programs nationwide.
TAS, which has campuses at White Rock and Kewarra Beach, is now in the running to be named Non-Government Primary School of the Year.

“A TAS Education goes far beyond the classroom curriculum, giving students the opportunity to demonstrate the higher-order skills that are essential for success in the modern world, such as critical thinking and problem solving," he said.
“We also partner that with a unique welfare program called Care and Connect, which focuses on building strong relationships and an extracurricular program full of opportunities.
“We acknowledge that as a community, learning outcomes can only be achieved when there is a strong foundation.”
TAS is also among nine schools named for having the best co-curricular programs, for its highly acclaimed and multi-award-winning Outdoor Education initiative.
Head of TAS’ Outdoor Education, Darren Osmond said the latest recognition is particularly special after what has been a challenging few years.
“Outdoor education largely relies on getting out and about and while the pandemic prevented us from delivering some of our usual range of experiences and excursions, we proved our resilience and through sheer resourcefulness, ensured students were still able to achieve great outcomes,” he said.
“With its tangible links to the school curriculum that enhance what is taught in the classroom, and vice versa, the success of TAS’ Outdoor Education Program is largely due to its carefully sequenced design which enables students to participate throughout their school life from Year 2 to 12.”
The Australian Education Awards will be announced at a black tie gala in Sydney in August.
