One of Queensland’s most anticipated music festivals has been announced – and it’ll be held exclusively in our own backyard.
The Grass is Greener will bring headliners Crooked Colours, Ziggy Alberts and Young Franco, alongside a huge list of Australian artists to its birthplace at Cairns Showgrounds.
The long-awaited return is set for Saturday 23 October, 2021.

Presented by triple j and featuring two multi-dimensional stages, Grass is Greener boasts an eclectic line-up with a mix of electronic, indie, pop and hip hop music.
ARIA-nominated electronic dance legends Crooked Colours will headline the 16+ event on the back of their latest single No Sleep, while Young Franco and Boo Seeka are set to back up the energy well into the night.
The line-up also features Winston Surfshirt’s smooth funk, a one-man show by Ziggy Albert, rising QLD hip-hop queen Jesswar and a dynamic set by pop artist George Maple.
“It means so much to us to be able to put this on once again this year,” Grass is Greener founder and director Oli Frost said.
“Last year we were scared it may never happen again and I am so keen to have one hell of a backyard bash!”
