Anyone entering Queensland, including residents, will need to fill out an online border declaration from this Saturday.

The new rules come as the State Government has also declared that from tomorrow, anyone travelling to Queensland from New South Wales exposure sites will have to go into hotel quarantine.

Three people have now tested positive to COVID-19 in Sydney’s Bondi outbreak, including a limousine driver who transported airline crews but wasn't vaccinated.

The man’s wife is the second case, while today it was revealed a woman in her 70s who attended a café at the same time as the couple also has the virus.

Exposure sites, listed in full below, include several outlets at a Bondi Junction shopping centre, while North Ryde, Vaucluse, Mascot, Zetland and Redfern are also among the suburbs affected.

Minister for Health and Ambulance Services, Yvette D’Ath, said the new border pass rule - applicable to both interstate and New Zealand travel - is aimed at boosting contract tracing efforts.

“It’s vital that if an interstate exposure site or hotspot is declared, our health experts can quickly contact anyone who has travelled into Queensland from that area,” she said.

“This is the next line of defence for Queensland – if we’re able to reach people quickly, it will reduce the risk of COVID-19 in Queensland and manage outbreaks right from the get-go."

People living in border towns will be exempt but anyone else crossing the border will need to fill out the declaration within 72 hours before entry.

Traveller’s movements will be cross-checked against a traffic light system in which green means no travel restrictions, amber signifies interstate exposure venues, and red alerts to a hotspot.

“The travel declaration needs to be made close to your travel, to ensure it reflects the most up-to-date advice,” said Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young.

“Travellers will need to check the latest restrictions before travelling.”

The State Government said the process will only take a few minutes to complete and is similar to the Victorian border pass system.

Victoria has today announced no new cases following an outbreak in Melbourne.

From tomorrow, restrictions will be further lifted, including Melbourne's 25-kilometre travel limit.
