Cairns Aquarium is celebrating its re-opening with a huge discount for locals
In welcome news for the local tourism industry, one of the city’s key attractions is now officially re-opened for business. The team at Cairns Aquarium is super excited to finally have their doors open to welcome everyone back to explore an underwater wonderland.
To celebrate the re-opening, the Aquarium is offering a local’s discount of 25% off General Admission tickets. So, if you’re a resident anywhere from Mission Beach to Thursday Island and as far west as Karumba, you’re in luck.
Described as Australia’s newest and most spectacular aquarium, you’ll discover an exclusive showcase of the stunning aquatic wildlife from Tropical North Queensland’s two World Heritage areas – the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Rainforest.
Follow the path of a drop of rain as it travels from the rainforest-clad mountain range, joining creeks and streams through the rainforest, across the flooded plains and billabongs into the mangroves, and finally out to the Great Barrier Reef, your destination is the Coral Sea.
With over 16,000 creatures in the heart of the Cairns CBD, guests of all ages can enjoy guaranteed interaction with some of the region’s most rare and elusive animals. You can even Dive with the Sharks, without even leaving the city!
The Cairns Aquarium is open daily 10am-3pm with last admission at 2pm. The Aquarium is air-conditioned, wheelchair accessible and has free wi-fi available.
