A common tree snake has had a very uncommon encounter with a big green tree frog at a Redlynch rainforest retreat.

The beautiful, blue-tinged snake thought it spotted a delicious meal on the back deck at Treetops Retreat yesterday when it latched on to a green tree frog.

But the sizable amphibian posed a significant challenge - the snake's attempt to devour its dinner was stopped short by the girth of the frog.
