Today, the countdown goes from 30 - 11.

Enjoy comparing the two lists, and keep the debate raging!
Cairns Post most influential vs TropicNow Power 50
Now that we're getting to the pointy end, the two lists have taken very different paths on the way to the top 10.
Positions 30-21
The Cairns Post list in this middle section features just a handful of similarities to our own from 30 - 21.
Both lists at this point feature Kristy Vallely and Ross Moller, but that's where the resemblance ends.
TropicNow has grouped most of the Cairns councillors at position 25 - minus a few key players who appear higher on the list.
We also think key city leaders like Paul Taylor and Kevin Byrne deserve to be higher than the Post's ranking of 27 and 21 respectively.
Ranking | Cairns Post | TropicNow |
---|---|---|
30. | Kristy Vallely | Amy Turnbull |
29. | Pat Flanagan | Michael Huelin |
28. | Ross Moller | Kristy Vallely |
27. | Paul Taylor | Ross Moller |
26. | Nick Loukas | Tony Williamson |
25. | Tony Baker | Cairns Councillors |
24. | Col Sparkes | Richie Bates |
23. | Linda Cooper | Ken Chapman |
22. | Grace Lillian Lee | Chris Boland |
21. | Kevin Byrne | Craig Crawford |
Positions 20-11
The Post's list features some older, wise heads such as Charles Woodward, Bishop James Foley and Bob Katter, but we've opted for a more youthful leadership group such as Luckbir Singh, Deb Hancock and Nick Loukas.
We've put police boss Paul Taylor, Advance CEO Kevin Byrne and local entrepreneur and business owner Darren Halpin higher in the rankings than the Post list.
Ranking | Cairns Post | TropicNow |
